What could fit in a 10×20 unit?

Use these examples as a starting point. The right fit depends on your item measurements, how you pack, and the room you leave for access.

Larger furniture pieces

Sofas, dining furniture, dressers, and packed boxes when their measurements fit your layout.

A move with bulky belongings

A mix of household items that needs more floor space than our 10×14.

Appliances and furniture

Larger items stored with room around them for packing and access. Prepare appliances according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

A 10×20 is not a guaranteed fit for every household. Furniture size, box count, stacking, and the space you leave for access all affect the layout. Confirm door clearance for bulky items before booking.

How this size compares

The 10×20 offers 200 square feet, compared with 140 in a 10×14. It adds six feet of nominal depth and 60 square feet of floor area—about 43% more. If your measured items fit comfortably in the 10×14, the smaller unit may be enough.

Plan your packing

Sketch the footprint before moving day. Place heavy or bulky items first, keep frequently used belongings near the front, and leave a route to reach boxes farther back. Avoid filling all the space just because it is available.

  • Measure the length, width, and height of your largest items.
  • Allow room for anything you need to reach during storage.

Questions about 10×20 storage

How much more space does a 10×20 give me?

It has 60 more square feet than our 10×14. Both are approximately 10 feet wide; the 10×20 is six feet deeper. That difference can help with bulky furniture or with leaving room to reach your belongings.

Will a 10×20 hold everything from my home?

There is no reliable answer from bedroom count alone. A home with large furniture and many boxes can need much more space than another home of the same size. Use your item measurements, the calculator, and an access plan to decide.

What does this size cost, and is one available?

Check our Units & Prices page for current rates and availability. Select the 10×20 size if it is available. If you do not see it, call (509) 540-4583 to compare your options.

What should I confirm before renting?

Check the measurements of your largest items and ask us about doorway clearance and usable height if needed. Our rentals are month to month, with drive-up loading and 24/7 tenant access. Complete your rental and follow the move-in instructions before bringing your belongings.
